This beauty has had quite a makeover.  Not so long ago, she looked like this…

That was in my parents house.  As soon as we moved her to our house we lost the hutch.  See how I created the wall of intaglios here.

But I still wasn’t thrilled with it, so I painted it the same color as the walls.

and spruced up the hardware with Krylon Gold Spray Paint

I also had a piece of glass cut to protect the top.

    Hi Katy!
Sure. We lightly sanded it and used an oil-based primer. Natural Bristle Brush. If you tell the guys at the paint store what you are painting, they can make perfect recommendations for paint, primer and brushes. 😉

    Good Luck!

Hi there! Can you tell me if you sanded, used primer, sealant? Also the brands and paint brush type? I’m getting ready to paint a dresser and all of the talk online of sanding, priming, self-leveling…blah blah is making my head spin. I cannot screw this up! Thanks!!

She is gorgeous! I love this. What a great example of how to repurpose an older piece of furniture!
And she looks great with your new website. Love!
