My Other Life.

As most of you know, I am a working mom.  I use my left brain 95% of the day, and I started this blog in 2010 as my release-  my time to be creative.  It was also a way for me to help women who were just like me to create their best life.   It’s blossomed into so much more, and for that-  for all of you, I am so grateful.

Until now, I’ve never really shared that other side of my life on this blog.  Last week I had an Oprah “a-ha” moment realizing that most of the women reading this blog are working moms, or stay at home moms, but MOMS who might actually be interested in that side of my life- because, quite frankly we are ALL moms trying to get through this life the best possible way we can.  And the reality is as women and as mothers, we should all be supporting each other and if I can help any mom or woman out there build a better life for herself, well that was the very premise that this blog was built on.

The reality is that my day job can be pretty cool.  I am a sales leader for one of the largest companies in the world.Red Apple   I have a fantastic team of people that I work with every day who make this job fun.  This year I was asked to be part of a Committee of Women Leaders within Apple to spearhead corporate efforts for further diversity and inclusion.  I am so proud to work for a company that not only says they care, but is willing to put forth the effort to make change.  And it looks like we are moving the needle.

    Fabulous!! Apple seems like an amazing company. Congrats on making a difference for those of us in the workplace! I think strong female leadership in the workplace helps create a workplace amenable to working mothers, so that the inflexibility of traditional work arrangements doesn’t lead to women feeling that their jobs are untenable once they become mothers. I’m an attorney, and the legal profession has always been loathe to change, so we have a ways to go in that regard… ;
