That being said, I have two kids to put through college and have no business paying $25,000 for a tub and some bathroom fixtures- so, I’ll be finding the next best thing (at a price I can afford.)… But a girl can dream, right?

The Office.

the office. | kiki's list.

We are about 80% done with the office.  We’ve come a long, long way.  Here is what the wall where the bookshelves currently reside looked like a few months ago.

Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 2.44.29 PMThe office was one of the first rooms that we painted when we moved in 12 years ago.  The sofa (which I love) is about as old as I am.  It’s a hand-me-down from my parents.  As you can see, the old door really cut into the room-  not making it very functional.  So….

We took the door off the hinges and moved the sofa to the basement.

Then we started building the bookshelves.

The electrician wired for recessed lighting as well as four sconces over the bookcases.

Added paint (BM Black.)

I painted these sconces (similar here) with Krylon Brass spray paint

and these cabinet pulls with the same paint.

We replaced the swing door with this custom-made barn door that slides back and forth which provides us full access to the bookshelves.

We are installing 3 of these consoles for the base of the desk along the wall opposite from the bookcase.

I’ve also painted the hardware Krylon Gold.

This Tanzania wallpaper by Thibaut went up on the ceiling.

And I’ve been busy styling away.

Next up: a trifecta of installs- window treatments, countertops and a ginormous bulletin board.

our guest bedroom.

Lucite Bench

It all started with this scarf.  I used this custom frame to showcase it.

Greys & Pinks

And slowly, but surely our guest bedroom started to come together.
Ranunculous Bedside Jewelry

Double Bamboo Mirrors

I scored these bamboo mirrors from Etsy.

DIY Painted Secretary's desk

This secretary’s desk was a Craig’s List find.

The curtains are from here.  I had this greek key trim sewn along the edges to add a little bit of personality.  The lucite rod is custom.  Please email me if you are interested in one.

Dresser Vignette

We took our old Crate and Barrel dresser and updated it with these ring pulls.

Greys & Pinks

The bedside tables are from HomeGoods, we used the same pulls on those too.  Many of you have contacted me about the acrylic frame.  If you are interested in one, please email me.

Vanity Tray

The mirrored tray is from HomeGoods.

Guest Bedroom

The lamps are from Ikea, the pink pillows are from HomeGoods and the grey pillow was made with  this fabric.  You can get the chandy here.

Our Dining Room.

2013-4-27 - Salmon Portfolio - Web - Larger (22 of 103)

Last week, I showed you the transformation of our dining room console.  I thought I may as well show you the rest of the dining room while I’m at it.

The table was my parents.  They bought it in 1969, the year they got married.  It’s so beautiful.  I couldn’t part with it.

Remember those chairs I ordered from Home Decorator’s Collection?  Well, they have been given a makeover.

The other console is an oldie form Crate & Barrel.  We painted it Peppermint Leaf by Benjamin Moore.  The walls and console were painted in Benjamin Moore, Black Satin.

The curtain fabric was custom-designed by yours truly.  The gold medallions are hand-painted.  We used the same curtains in the adjoining living room.  I’ll be sharing those pics next week!

Squished.

A few months ago, I pinned this picture knowing that Christina over at Full House was up to something good.  I had no idea of how good.
You see, Christina is Mom to 5 kids (girl twins and boy triplets) and she is building a new house.  Everyone has the Pinterest dream of the bunk room.  But Christina made her dream a reality (I can’t think of anyone who needs it more!)  And it is gooooood.  Now her boys are “all squished together” as she says.

Swoon.
