ultimate ikea hack.

ultimate ikea hack | kiki's list. Have you all seen this Ikea hack from Sarah Sherman Samuel? It’s genius! Apparently there is a company out there called Semi Handmade that makes custom doors for your Ikea Cabinets?!? It’s perfect because at Ikea you buy the cabinets and the doors separately. No doubt that I love Ikea, their cabinet quality is actually pretty great. However you are somewhat limited by their designs. Now you can have custom cabinets at a MUCH lower price point. I am DEFINITELY doing this for our bathroom renovations!

Last week I bought this chair at my local HomeGoods for our basement media room that is FINALLY getting finished. As much as I loved it, I was stressed about my purchase because I needed two of these chairs and my HG’s only had one. The hunt was on. I spent the first half of Saturday calling every HomeGoods within a 40 mile radius (luckily there are quite a few.) After an hour of calling several stores, describing the chair, giving the style number and price (over and over) I was ready to give up. E was at my side cheering me on just when I had lost all hope. As I said to her “This is useless baby.” I heard a voice ask on the other line “How much would you love me if I told you I had it?” I started screaming “SHUT UP, SHUT UP!” Sure enough, he had it. So E and I hopped in the car and drove about an hour to the Kingstowne store and all I can say is HOLY SH&% that store is REDONKULOUS! Just check out some of the HomeGoodies we found…

It KILLED me to leave this there.. But I had no place to store it or clients that had a need for it.

Yep, this is not a dream.

This guy needed a few tiny mirrors to be replaced, but it would have cost under $30. Looks a lot like the infamous Peacock Mirror, right?

They actually had two of these. Perfect for an office!

I just loved this pillow for a little boy’s room. It would be a perfect match with that blue and white Stark striped rug on OKL this week!

After all was said and done, the other half of my duo made it home. Squeal! This room is gonna be amazing!

e turns 8.

It’s hard to believe it’s been three months already, but I am finally getting around to posting pictures of E’s sleepover.

All of the invitations and party printables were custom made and will be available online soon. If you are looking to purchase them immediately, email me. We were able to make so many decorations from the printable package. I loved how everything turned out!

We attached cutouts of the pillow design from the invitation to lollipop sticks from Michael’s and used them as cupcake toppers.

We filled these boxes from Michael’s with all kinds of spa goodies. We wrapped the tops in paper from the printables.

I printed paper and glued them together to make a table runner.

We mod podged the same paper to a cardboard E from JoAnn’s… and also used it for the banners.

I just love how they turned out.

We made several attempts to dip the balloons in glitter. The first prototypes had way more glitter, but I didn’t account for the weight of the glitter weighing down the balloons. This was the most glitter that we could apply and still allow them to float.

i think they had fun. 😉

paint it gold.

It’s no big secret that I am a lover of gold spray paint. I wanted to share yet another tryst in our long, laborious affair.

My parents bought this table in 1977, the year they bought our beach condo. It was in rough shape (totally rusted and scratched) and didn’t make the cut after the redesign. So I loaded it into the truck and hauled it home hoping to use it somewhere on our back porch that was being built at the time.
