One Hell of an Ikea Hacker.

Upon perusing one of my favorite sites-Ikea Hackers,  I came across two of the best Ikea Hacks I have ever seen.  They both just happen to be from Erin at A Charming Nest.  Let’s take a look at the first hack.
What was once two RAST tables are now gorgeous bedside tables:
And if that wasn’t amazing enough, look at what she did with two HEMNES consoles!
Can you say A-MAZ-ING???
Thanks for the inspiration, Erin… Can’t wait to see what you do next!

The Cheapest Art Around….

Because it’s free!  I am currently renovating a loft for one very special teenager.  There is a lot to be done, and while the client has champagne wishes and caviar dreams, mom and dad have a strict budget.  So, we are looking to invest in a few pieces that will make the room and leave the rest to a lot of creativity and elbow grease.  With that in mind, one thing that I do not want to blow our budget on is artwork.  Let’s face it,  she’s 16 now and the reality is that her taste will become more… ahem… refined in the next few years.  So, using my Google wizardry, I was able to find a fantastic selection of free, yes, FREE printables that are just perfect for a teenager.

Mykea.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about O’verlays.  I have recently stumbled upon another alternative to sprucing up your Ikea furniture.  They’re stickers and they’re called Mykea.  First you choose what piece of Ikea furniture that you have, then choose your pattern.  Here are examples of what you can create:

Zad is Rad.

For many of you that have been following Kiki’s List from the beginning, you may remember my original headshot. (A sorry excuse for a picture.)  I had Mike take it on a random Saturday (notice the lack of a bra, hot pink nail polish, and little Lou in the corner.)  Last Summer, I received many emails as to where I bought the statement necklace that I am wearing in this picture.

You can get a better look in these pictures:

This was another great South Moon Under find.  I loved it so much, I bought a turquoise one for my bestie, MJ for her birthday.  Unfortunately, it was no longer available at SMU, but (one year later) I was able to finally hunt it down and redeem myself.  So here you are ladies… THE NECKLACE and it’s available in both coral and turquoise!

What’s better than that?  In my quest to find this piece, I came across some more amazing pieces by this company.  Check out what Zad has to offer at super-affordable prices:

O’verlays.

I love a good Ikea hack.  And for those of you (like me) who have champagne taste and a beer budget, have I got the product for you!
They’re called O’verlays.  They are prefabricated trellis screens that perfectly compliment some of Ikea’s most popular furniture.
Just look at what they did for this $79.99 MALM dresser
And this $29.99 RAST
And my all-time favorite, a pink and orange RAST
The possibilities are endless with O’verlays.
Dress up a coffee table
or create a privacy screen.
What a fantastic, inexpensive way to dress up your furniture.  There are three different patterns to choose from.  I see some O’verlays projects in my near future.
