Take Another Looksie….

When I think of HSN, I think of the crazy cat lady who doesn’t leave her house, and chooses to stay locked inside with the Home Shopping Network running 24/7. Well, I urge you to take another looksie at this channel as it has reinvented itself with celebrity designers of all kinds. Check out the picks that made Kiki’s List:

The One That Got Away….

Last fall I spotted this console at The Lucketts Store. Clearly, I was interested because I snapped a picture of it. I knew that I should have bought it for $295. It would have been the perfect TV console for our family room. The only issue was that I had no where to put it at the time. I was saving up for my coveted wallpaper, and would not be able to get rid of our ginormous TV until after the wallpaper was bought. Well, that day has come my friends, and now I am pissed that I don’t have this baby to spruce up. I keep dreaming up the big plans that I had for the two of us…. A little red lacquer, some gold spray paint on that hardware, and a little reworking on the shelving inside. ………Sigh……

Beach on the Brain…..

We’re baaaack. We had a fantastic time in Corolla. The house that we rented was amazing, and it was so nice to catch up with our family. The girls loved hanging out with their cousins. I still have beach on the brain, so I would like to share the following post.

When I received last month’s issue of House Beautiful, I could not stop drooling over the pages of this California Beach house. I absolutely love the use of color, and ample furniture. Designer Krista Ewart loves to use bold patterns and bright colors. Her belief is that it makes a space look larger- I agree! The other design philosophy that we share is to add a touch of green to each room. Green is a happy color- it brings a touch of life to each space. This house makes me smile.

Freshen Up Your Bookcase.

I am so happy that two of my favorite things have come together as of late: color + organization. Speaking as a woman who has her closet color coordinated, I too have organized my cookbooks in a rainbow-like pattern. It just brings so much life to my bookshelf, and becomes a design element in itself. Ahhhhhh… it’s like a little rainbow in my very own kitchen.

Watching every penny.

Remember this post from Thursday? Well, in flipping through my ELLE DECOR last night I spotted this little guy from Restoration Hardware. Grant it, it is on sale- but you are still looking at up to $800 including S&H.. Or, you can buy this little guy for $302.94 (incl. S&H.) That $500 in savings will pay for all of the hardware that I’ve been holding off on buying for my kitchen cabinets….

Nailed it.

Nailheads are everywhere. They seem to be all the rage right now- and I couldn’t be happier. After searching the ends of the Earth for a bench to put at the foot of our bed, I found this little number here to match the detailing on our headboard. At $299 + $2.95 shipping you can’t beat the price tag!

Stay tuned as there will be some BIG changes to this room including the bench…
