weekend happenings.
We had a such a great Father’s Day weekend.
Took the pip squeaks on their first horseback riding adventure.
They loved it!
Then we kidnapped Daddy and surprised him with a trip to Lowe’s to pick out a new grill for our backyard.
Speaking of the backyard. Things are finally moving again. We are so close to being done I can taste it!
We finally got the new siding and new windows put in.
Along with the fireplace and window seats with lots of storage for pillows!
We just need to finish the patio and fire pit, then it’s on to landscaping and finally paint!

Lea Michele’s Four Hour Makeover.
When Estee Stanley over at Domaine Home convinced friend Lea Michele to take part in a quick-change makeover, she was told “You know, this could be the end of our relationship, right?” And with that said she was off. In just four hours Lea came home to a completely edited space. The results are phenom— laid back, California-rustic. Just perfect.
I think they’ll be friends for a little bit longer. 😉

Flat Vernacular.
I have fallen in love with Flat Vernacular’s sticker wallpaper. The company, created by New York artist, Peyton Cosell Tuner will create a customized wallpaper made of thousands of stickers then sealed with a clear coat of satin vinyl. Be still, my heart.
For those of us not able to swing the price tag of the sticker wallpaper, FV also offers printed patterns that are pretty swanky.

Lilly Lampshade.
Remember the adorable pillows we had made by Irene for the girls’ room at the beach? Well, we purchased extra fabric to cover a ginormous lampshade for their room as well. I followed this tutorial from House of Fifty. Let me tell you, this was a total pain in the ass. I think it’s a two person job. I didn’t do the best job, but it’s a-o-k for this beach rental.
Room pictures to come!
