Guiliana and Bill: Living it up, West Coast Style.

Have you seen Guiliana and Bill Rancic’s new LA digs?  Definitely drool worthy!
If you have been reading this blog for any amount of time, you know that neutral is not my thing… But I am seriously digging this place and designer Lonni Paul’s use of a neutral palette.
Dying.
I love the grasscloth wallpaper and the tongue and groove detailing on the ceiling.
Still digging the neutral.
And just look at little Duke’s nursery.
I could live here.
A monogrammed crib, of course.
Loooving this covered veranda.  One day, soon, I will have one.
Unfortunately, a pool is not in my future.  Booo.

A Little Touch Of Pink Goes A Long Way.

This week I pulled the trigger on E’s new homework desk.  This kid is so excited to have her own desk– now I hope she’ll actually do her homework.
It’s funny.  This picture actually has lilac walls similar to hers and I plan on a lot of pink accents.  Just like these.
Now there should be no more excuses! 😉

Ikea to the Rescue (Again.)

I have been pinning lighting options for our guest bedroom for months now.  I was dead-set on pewter sconces over the nightstands just like these.
I even had the perfect pair picked out:
However, something in me couldn’t stomach spending $1,000 on two lights for a room we hardly use.
A few weeks ago, I was at Ikea and spotted these babies….  for $29.99 each!  Done and done.  Life’s all about choices, people.  Now I have more money to put towards my living room lighting budget!

Family Circle.

Last Summer, I was so shocked to get a call from Family Circle Magazine that they wanted to feature our kitchen for the November issue. Well, it’s out now people, and here are the results….
I had no idea of how much time and effort went into every little shot.  This was a 9:00-5:30 day, people…  And we were a- hustlin’!  It was an honor to work with the entire team at Family Circle.  I learned so much.  What a fun day we had!

Design Crush: Tineke Triggs.

I fell in love with this bathroom designed by Tineke Triggs for the San Francisco 2012 Designer Showcase.
So naturally I stalked her and realized how much of her work I recognized.
 … And LOVED.
 Such great colors and textures.
Classic lines and details meeting modern design elements.
Just perfect!  Check out more of her work here.
