Strawberry Hills.

It’s hard to beleive that my baby is turning 4 on May 1.  This year (of course, after ordering a ton of invites, etc) in an effort to prevent me from having a nervous breakdown, we have decided to scale down and are just having a few little girls.  She chose Strawberry Shortcake as her theme.  I opted out of making the cards myself this year (Remember this post on balance?) and ordered these invitations from Belly Bean Cards.  I  have had them sitting on my desk for probably two months, and finally sent them out last week.  Aren’t they adorbs?
I did line some envelopes from Paper-Source to spruce them up a bit.  It’s easy!  Learn how to here.  The colors were a perfect match.

Stopping to Smell the Flowers.

As of late, my life has been crazy.  Like, seriously, crazy.  I am stressed beyond belief and trying to find a way to find a balance, especially for my girls.  Yesterday morning, my almost-4-year old girl wanted to go out and pick a flower for her teacher.  Of course, I was late (as usual) but I stopped and thought to myself “If I don’t take this moment in now, when will I?”  I strive very hard (or at least that is my intention) to make sure that my girls are kind and considerate, and that is exactly the behavior that Lou was demonstrating.  Of course, if I start to think about the amount of times that our schedule or life gets in the way of that my head might explode.  I would never want my girls to think that there is anything more important than them… but unfortunately, sometimes my behavior shows otherwise.  So, here’s to a new, calmer me and training myself how to stop and smell the flowers.

Painting Party.

As my little E Burger is quickly becoming a tweener (at the ripe old age of 6 1/2) she wants to redecorate her room.  I think someone’s nose got bent out of shape with all of the attention that Lou’s Room has gotten.  She has picked the color purple and we decided to have a paint party to test out a few techniques.
(That’s her BFF, Anika)

There Goes My Hero.

Today I wanted to share a party that my friend Kristin Mika of Hampton Paper Designs threw for her son Jackson’s 5th birthday.  Kristin and I met a few weeks prior to the party to pull all of her ideas together.   She knew what look she wanted to achieve, she just needed a little help with some editing.  Kristin used custom designs from Hampton Paper Designs to create a Super-Hero Extravaganza.

I think it’s safe to say, Jackson had a blast!  Hop on over to Kristin’s blog to get all of the dets.
