Lucite: There’s a Ghost in My House.

Halloween is on the horizon and what better time to add a ghost chair to your home? Ghost chairs, Lucite chairs, acrylic chairs, they’re all one in the same. Lucite seems to be a buzz word. Generally, you’ll pay a lot more money when a piece has Lucite in the title. There are thousands of types of acrylic out there. Lucite is merely the brand name of DuPont’s acrylic material. Acrylic is essentially the clearest type of plastic, about eight times clearer than glass. It is a great option when you have little ones in the house. However, while it is more durable than glass, it is breakable.

Why stop at chairs? I absolutely LOVE the over-sized Lucite coffee table (above) featured a few years ago in Domino. Celebrate Halloween in style, and get your spook on with some ghostly furniture. Below are some of the Lucite/acrylic/ghost pieces that made it onto Kiki’s List:

1. Kartell Louis Ghost Chair– $422.30 ***KIKI’S LIST FAVORITE

A Little Taste of Heaven.

Over the years, this recipe has become my signature fall dish. Friends and family look forward to the fall season to get a taste of this delicious treat. Every time I serve it to someone new, they ask me for the recipe, so, I thought I’d share with all of you. Warning… there is nothing low fat about this one. But it is worth every calorie. Enjoy!

The Color Purple.

Images via Veranda, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Domino and Decor Pad

Next week, you all will see pictures of E’s fifth birthday party. The color scheme was lilac and chartreuse, and it was gorgeous. Inspired by the Princess and the Frog color scheme, I am intrigued by purple in the home. While I love wearing the color purple, I currently have no purple in our home. However, it is a color that I am seeing more and more of in the trade. Inspired by the gorgeous Suzanis by Donghia, and the bold patterns by Madeline Weinrib and Kelly Wearstler, I think purple is going to be a big color for the fall. Enjoy this bundle of purplicious delight.
