Seeing Lilly in a Whole New Light.

Whether you love it or hate it, everyone seems to have an opinion of Lilly Pulitzer’s Palm Beach prints.  After receiving their new spring catalog, I am seeing Lily in a whole new light.  Not that the label has given up on the bright colors and bold patterns that have made them famous– just added some more sophisticated textures and lines that quite frankly, I am loving.. particularly their “Lilly Whites.”

Check out some of these digs from the Spring catalog:

Here are some more items that I am loving:

1. Eryn Dress– $298
2. Set in Stone Wedge– $268
3. Murfee Scarf Dip Dye– $98
4. Wynne Top– $68
5. Chrysoprase Charm Necklace– $550
6. Ric Rac Bangle Set– $58
7. Glam Obi Belt– $38
8. Resort Chic Wedge– $198
9. Kiki Dress-$238  (Do I need to say more???)

TOMS: Shoes For a Better Tomorrow.

Ok, so I am a total hypocrite.  One of my friends at work wears a pair of TOMS every casual Friday, and would have to endure my ruthless taunting.  “F-ing Hippie” was probably the most popular name of choice.  For some reason, these shoes reminded me of the dudes in college who always smelled and sat outside the dining hall playing hacky sack.
So…. two weeks ago, before leaving for our trip, the philanthropist in me took over.  I bought a pair of these puppies on a whim and I will be the first to eat a piece of humble pie and tell you that they are THE most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn.  I’m sold.

For those of you who are unaware of TOMS, it was a company started by Blake Mycoskie. (Yes, there is no Tom.. TOMS is short for Shoes for Tomorrow.) During a trip to Argentina, he had noticed that they children had nothing to protect their feet.  TOMS was born in 2006, and with it’s one to one program, it vows to donate one pair of shoes for every pair of TOMS that are purchased.  After starting TOMS, he later returned to Argentina with a delivery of over 10,000 shoes to donate.  TOMS now donates to over 24 countries and has now donated over 1 Million pairs of shoes.
Now… knowing what a good heart he has, let’s get a better look at Blake…

Mmmmm Hmmmmm.
So, next on my list is to outfit the whole family in TOMS.  I already found a pair for Lou.

I urge you to give these shoes a chance, and in the process, give a child the same.

Tis The Season: My Christmas List.

Mike and I never really do big gifts for each other for Christmas. We tell the girls at every holiday (Christmas, birthdays, Thanksgiving, etc.) that the only thing we want is peace and quiet. It has become a Salmon family joke…

K: “What’s the one thing that Mommy wants for Christmas?”
E: “Peace and quiet. But you’re not going to get it!”

We are also saving for our trip to Turks and Caicos in January, so that is Santa’s major gift to all of us. That being said, for all of his strengths, my husband does not have the best track record in the gift giving department. Generally on Christmas Eve I get the “Hey, I need to go run and errand” line. This year I am going to help him out.. and I know that he is a daily Kiki’s List reader, so there are no excuses, Michael Salmon. Here is a list of 12 things for you to select from, my love. I certainly don’t expect all of them, but I sure could use a few. A plethora of items to choose from! And truth be told, if I could get a clean and well-organized garage, I would forgo them all!

4. Red Door Gift Card– Price varies
9. Miz Mooz Amelia Boot- $219.95

All of the beauty items are refills on my daily supplies.

Love these earrings. 1.) My birthstone is amethyst. 2.) They match an amethyst necklace that I picked up at a consignment shop in Venice perfectly!
Every year I ask for the same thing (besides peace and quiet) and that is a spa gift certificate so that I can get a massage and facial.

I have been waiting for Christmas to get new coffee table books… A great (easy) gift.

We are in desperate need of new towels, and I found these amazing bamboo towels at Valerianne made by a green company named Nandina. Nandina does not use chemical dye for coloring, their manufacturing plant is powered by wind and bamboo is considered a sustainable plant– very eco smart!

The bamboo towels are VERY absorbent, dry quickly and launder beautifully. The best part– no mold, mildew or bacteria can grow on bamboo so the towels will never get a musty smell to them.

I broke my magic wand mashing potatoes. In desperate need of a new one.

We received 12 red wine and 12 white wine glasses from Pottery Barn for our wedding. I think we are down to 4 white and 6 red. Not sure what happened there…..

I saw these boots on a coworker in California. I hunted her down and asked who made them.. Love.

Take Another Looksie: Old Navy.

I started shopping at Old Navy when I was pregnant with E. They always had some great maternity clothes for a fraction of the price of other stores. After my babies were born, I continued shopping there for inexpensive children’s items with a bit of flair. Occasionally, I would find some nice pieces for myself, that were so cheap that I wouldn’t care if they got ruined, spit up on, etc.

Well, this fall Old Navy has taken a page out of the ole’ J. Crew book… on the cheap! I just bought a bucket load of items to dress my family for fall. I also picked up a few key fall items for myself. Want the best part? Today Old Navy is offering 25% off of your entire purchase with promo code ONSTYLE25. And, as always you get free shipping if you use your Old Navy, Banana Republic or Gap card. While I couldn’t swing ALL of these, here are the items that made it onto Kiki’s list:
