We are moving along with our master bathroom renovation and I couldn’t be happier. The bathroom should be 99.9% complete in about a week and a half -just in time for my 40th birthday. Oye.

Discounted Black + White Tiles.
I have been on the hunt for the perfect black and white Moroccan tiles for a special project. I just love this look.

The problem is that Moroccan tiles can get pretty steep. That is, unless you know where to look. Like any other materials, manufacturers over-produce and sell overstocked items to discount retailers. I have had a lot of readers ask me about our kitchen countertops over the past year. They are Carrara Marble slabs from Dominion Granite. I love having marble in our kitchen, but I also don’t mind the patina that builds on marble countertops. I like to think of them as my kitchen memoirs. Many people stay away from marble because of 1.) the patina and 2.) the cost.
Now, take a look at these countertops. What do they all have in common?
Well, if the title of this post was any indication- YES! They are all laminate. Calcutta 180 x Formica to be exact. Don’t they look incredible? At $16/ sq. ft. they are a great alternative to marble. Formica sure has come a long way!
