It took a long time to find just the right paper for the ceiling.  I was thrilled that the winner was from Home Depot!  The chairs were a Craigslist find that I reupholstered.

As you may know, the curtains were custom painted.

Remember the Nate Berkus turtle shells that I painted?  Aren’t they fab?

Found this needlepoint on Craiglist.  Had her made into a pillow.  We had leftover turquoise linen from the wingbacks, so I had two pillows made.  The Schumacher pillows are from Etsy.

We love our new living room.  What I love most is that we didn’t break the bank creating it.

Last week, I showed you the transformation of our dining room console.  I thought I may as well show you the rest of the dining room while I’m at it.

The table was my parents.  They bought it in 1969, the year they got married.  It’s so beautiful.  I couldn’t part with it.

The other console is an oldie form Crate & Barrel.  We painted it Peppermint Leaf by Benjamin Moore.  The walls and console were painted in Benjamin Moore, Black Satin.

The curtain fabric was custom-designed by yours truly.  The gold medallions are hand-painted.  We used the same curtains in the adjoining living room.  I’ll be sharing those pics next week!

E’s Room: Desk Chair Makeover.

A few months ago, E and I scooped up this chair at a consignment shop.  I loved it because it is a bit smaller than your typical chair- perfect for a seven year old!  While I love zebra, this was not a good zebra print, which was hard to sell E on because she thought it looks like all of the crap she sees in Justice (can we talk about how that store is the bane of my existence?)
So I pulled together a few fabrics that worked in her room and the one I liked best was a bathrobe that I bought at TJ Maxx for $19.99- which E basically stole because she loved it so much.
While I couldn’t use it on the entire chair, we put it on the back and used the leftover ostrich fabric from our dining room chairs on the front (kid-proof) and the fabric leftover from her bench for the piping.  I love it, and more importantly, SHE loves it!

Full reveal on the way!
