Tantalizing Textiles: Mod Green Pod.

Last week while I was in Austin, I ate at the preppy seafood restaurant Perla’s on South Congress.  Upon entering the ladies room, I fell in love… with the wallpaper.  The walls were donned in a beautiful Butterfly Jubilee.  (Sidebar: As many of you know I have a love for butterflies, and it demands that this wallpaper go in my powder room.)   The hostess kindly put me in touch with the owners of Perla’s who told me that the wallpaper was from an Austin-based company called Mod Green Pod.
Here is a little taste of some more of their goodies:
Mod Green Pod is a member of the Organic Trade Association.  All wallpapers are vinyl-free and made from water-based inks.

Jenny From The Block.

Jennifer Lopez seems to be everywhere you turn these days, and last month’s Veranda is no exception. Let’s take a look at her gorgeous L.A. home designed by Michelle Workman.
I was actually surprised at how subdued and tranquil her home was.  A little too formal for my family’s …ahem.. lifestyle- but beautiful, nonetheless.  My girls and Bailey wouldn’t last 10 minutes in this living room.
Here comes my favorite.  I am loving the blue cabinetry in her kitchen….And that stove?  Perfection.
Chandelier love.
To be this important….
As you know, I am a color person, I feel like her dining room could use a little more punch, but I love the overall concept, and the chandelier.

Orange Crush.

Remember this bench?  Well I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this Duralee Orange fabric to reupholster it.  As you may know by now, I am a color person, and orange makes me happy.
It may be a while before everything is finished, so in the meantime I will entice you with these…
Jonathan Adler’s New York Apartment… A little splash or orange in every room!
A jaw-dropping orange and magenta velvet sofa.
Orange accents for your beach bungalow.
Orange piping.
Or perhaps an orange chair?
This is where orange meets masculine.  Love it.

Loving Lotus.

I adore Farrow& Ball’s Lotus Papers.  With so many colors to choose from, I am still amazed at how different each one can look.  With just a mixing of positive and negative space, Farrow and Ball has created several different wallpapers in one!  Not sure which one is for you?  Order this swatch book and you can take your time to decide.

Chevronmania.

More widely known as herringbone,  the chevron print has become extremely popular and can be found practically anywhere, on practically anything.  I had always dreamed of one day having herringbone floors.  Seeing as how I have perfectly good hardwood floors (okay they may not be what I would have picked if I built our house, but with two kids and a dog there is no way we are refinishing them.)  I digress..  for now I can get snippets of chevron everywhere I look, and at every price range.  I would LOVE to have a pair of curtains in Rubie Green’s East Village in Raspberry, but for now, I will settle for the Ellie bag, at $24.
