Doubletake.

Since I have been in bed with this horrible stomach flu for the past four days, I’ve had a lot of time to catch up on my reading (not books, silly… magazines.) In thumbing through the November issue of In Style these gorgeous photos of Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks at home instantly caught my eye. Not for the impressive dishes that she prepared or the pops of gorgeous fall colors on her table… It’s her kitchen. Am I the only one who swears that this is Windsor Smith’s kitchen from the September 2009 House Beautiful (The Color Issue)??? It might be my all time favorite HB issue. I still have it! Anyone?… Anyone?…. Bueller?… Bueller?…

She’s Gone Country.

Mike and I dream of one day having a lake house. A cozy cabin where our family can retreat on weekends. Ahhh, to dream……

I am a bit of a freak in the fact that every time I walk into a house, I think of how I would decorate it. Well, this is how I would decorate my lake house. Rustic is all the rage right now. Perhaps we should all find a way to incorporate some of these products into our homes this fall. I bought this round mirror last year and have it hanging in our basement over the mantle. Love it. Here are the rustic items that made it onto Kiki’s List:

Bunk Rooms.

I have been seeing bunk rooms pop up more and more lately. A great solution when you have a lot of kiddos, and not a lot of space. As you can see there are a lot of great storage ideas here. I especially love the beds that are built into the wall. This also works well at vacation homes. I may have to get Mr. Salmon cracking on having more babies, just so that I can have a bunk room of my very own!
