Ode To Geodes.
Geodes are at the top of my accessory list for both jewelry and my home for this Fall. I adore the cocktail rings from Mayastar in Wednesday’s post. I just love the natural beauty of these crystal formations. In case you were wondering, a geode is a a hollow rock or nodule with the cavity usually lined with crystals. These geological rock formations occur in sedimentary and certain volcanic rocks.

A Gem of Austin: Mayastar.
I cannot leave Austin without stopping at this sumptuous little store on South Congress Street. Every time I return home with a coveted piece of jewelry countless women ask me where I got it. Well, here is your answer. I also buy a lot of gifts for friends at Mayastar because the selection is so unique. All of my girlfriends have been waiting for this post.

Take Another Looksie: JC Penney.
I have never been much of a fan of JC Penney. It reminds me of when I was little and my mom would try to convince me that I really could do my back to school shopping there. But the bargain hunter in me loves a challenge, and I think I met this one head on. Don’t get me wrong, I had to sift through my fair share of pleather shoes, CZ jewels and more polyester than anyone should ever encounter.
