blow it up.

I was determined to have an oversized picture of E in her new room, but I wanted something more dramatic than a gallery-wrapped canvas.  Enter HomeGoods.  I found this baby on clearance for $27.  One of the edges was cracked and because it was beveled it took a bit more to repair than just a flat edge.  I was happy to pay the extra money because I am so happy with the results!

ChandelierStay tuned for the full reveal of her room tomorrow!

It took a long time to find just the right paper for the ceiling.  I was thrilled that the winner was from Home Depot!  The chairs were a Craigslist find that I reupholstered.

As you may know, the curtains were custom painted.

Found this needlepoint on Craiglist.  Had her made into a pillow.  We had leftover turquoise linen from the wingbacks, so I had two pillows made.  The Schumacher pillows are from Etsy.

We love our new living room.  What I love most is that we didn’t break the bank creating it.

Last week, I showed you the transformation of our dining room console.  I thought I may as well show you the rest of the dining room while I’m at it.

The table was my parents.  They bought it in 1969, the year they got married.  It’s so beautiful.  I couldn’t part with it.

The other console is an oldie form Crate & Barrel.  We painted it Peppermint Leaf by Benjamin Moore.  The walls and console were painted in Benjamin Moore, Black Satin.

The curtain fabric was custom-designed by yours truly.  The gold medallions are hand-painted.  We used the same curtains in the adjoining living room.  I’ll be sharing those pics next week!

This beauty has had quite a makeover.  Not so long ago, she looked like this…

That was in my parents house.  As soon as we moved her to our house we lost the hutch.  See how I created the wall of intaglios here.

But I still wasn’t thrilled with it, so I painted it the same color as the walls.

Beachy Bedding.

I received some source requests for the bedding that we bought for the beach condo.  This was a severe case of design on a dime since we are renting it out the next few years.  All-in-all, I was quite happy with what we bought.
Sea Creatures Quilt – $47.99 |  Lilly Pillow– $32.00
Paige Bedding– $88 each (with coupon)
Flip Flop Bedding– $159   | Pillows- Homegoods.

Instagram on Canvas.

When looking for inexpensive artwork for the beach condo, I came up short.  I wanting something that was cost-effective, large-scale, beautiful and meaningful.  Enter CanvasWorld.
Last year, I took this picture while we were at the beach.
I Instagrammed it and loved how it turned out.
CanvasWorld is awesome because you can get an instant preview of how your gallery-wrapped canvas will look.
And there you have it.  I got a 30″ x 30″ personalized gallery-wrapped canvas picture for $149.99.

Can’t beat that.

Some of you have asked for my Instagram profile.  You can follow me on Instagram here.
