Family Circle.

Last Summer, I was so shocked to get a call from Family Circle Magazine that they wanted to feature our kitchen for the November issue. Well, it’s out now people, and here are the results….
I had no idea of how much time and effort went into every little shot.  This was a 9:00-5:30 day, people…  And we were a- hustlin’!  It was an honor to work with the entire team at Family Circle.  I learned so much.  What a fun day we had!

Design Crush: Tineke Triggs.

I fell in love with this bathroom designed by Tineke Triggs for the San Francisco 2012 Designer Showcase.
So naturally I stalked her and realized how much of her work I recognized.
 … And LOVED.
 Such great colors and textures.
Classic lines and details meeting modern design elements.
Just perfect!  Check out more of her work here.

Come, Create and Celebrate.

We had the absolute best time for E’s 7th birthday.  This year, we loaded up a van full of seven girls and headed out to Confetti Studio in Warrenton.  My friend Annabel and her friend Alessandra started Confetti Studio just over a year ago and just moved into their new beautiful space.  These might be two of the most creative women I’ve ever met– and that’s saying something.  The girls had the absolute best time creating and celebrating!
They painted beads to make adorable necklaces.
Then cut out shapes and used the sewing machine to make their own garland.
Lou was quite proud of her finished product.
Annabel and Alessandra- thank you for giving us a van full of happy girls.
The best part about it all was how appreciative E was… Something changed within her this year.   She has always been happy about her birthdays, but this year she went out of her way to thank us for all of our hard work.  Melted my heart.
Happy, Happy Birthday to my girl.  We love you so very much.

Fashion Friday: Target’s Got It In The Bag.

We all love Target.  I get it.  But I am more of a kid’s clothes, home goods Target customer than women’s fashion.  However, lately I have been buying quite a few pieces there for myself as we look forward to Fall.  Here are just a few of the goodies that I’ve picked up.
(Not exactly Fall) but I found these bad boys on clearance in the store for $9.98… Sorry, still $19.99 online.
Totally into these.
I first bought these for E and was totes jealous and then I spotted a pair for myself, so now we can be matchers.  (Sorry, couldn’t find the Women’s pair online.)
Love this sweater.  The sizing is Junior, so order one size up.
Loved the colors in this flannel.  Again, it’s a Junior- so go up a size!
LOVE.  You know the routine (Junior..)  Am I turning into a hipster?

Some Birthday Treats.

Here’s the “How To” on the tags that we made for E’s school party.  You could use them for all kinds of Halloween goodies.  E’s school is “treat-free,” which makes it difficult when it comes to birthdays…. but we were up for the challenge.I found some great Halloween paintable sun catchers in the dollar aisle at Michael’s.

We made these Candy Corn tags in MS Word (you can fit 4 on one page.)

and cut them into candy corn shapes.

The birthday girl went to work with my trusty tape gun.

And Bam!  $25 for 25 “treats.”
