I was determined to have an oversized picture of E in her new room, but I wanted something more dramatic than a gallery-wrapped canvas. Enter HomeGoods. I found this baby on clearance for $27. One of the edges was cracked and because it was beveled it took a bit more to repair than just a flat edge. I was happy to pay the extra money because I am so happy with the results!

Recently I received an email from a reader who just found out she was expecting. She wanted some tips on how to look stylish without breaking the bank. It’s been over 5 years since I had to style a bump and it was no easy task considering 1.) My girls were 9 lbs. 5 oz. and 9 lbs 14 oz both a week early 2.) I am not exactly petite to begin with.
I hate despise those tiny bitches who say “I never even had to buy maternity clothes. I just used a Bella Band.” Ugh. I was literally BUSTING out of my maternity clothes by the end of both pregnancies. When Anna was born the nurse said to me “I am so sorry, we don’t have any clothes that will fit her on the L & D floor. We have to go upstairs to the Pediatric Department to find her something bigger.” We don’t grow them small around here, that’s for sure.
Here are some of my favorite tricks. I can tell you that I made the rookie mistake of buying a lot of designer clothes with my first pregnancy. I learned my lesson on the second. Old Navy, Gap and Target will do just fine. H & M has a great Maternity line too. You can also use a ton of existing cardigans, scarves and jean jackets to zhush up your outfits. Accessories are key here, ladies.

A few months ago, I bought this beauty from e sale rugs. She’s hand-knotted. If you look closely, you can see that the right side has two less bands than the right. Perfect for this girl on her quest for imperfection. 😉
She’s a welcome addition to our foyer.. complements this baby perfectly.

I like to be prepared at the beach to minimize as many temper tantrums, bathroom breaks and hunger pangs. Last week our family stayed true to a few old favorites (I seriously have a problem when it comes to Twizzlers.) But we found a few new obsessions to add to the rotation like this sunscreen line, these portable applesauces and this beach blanket.
Take that hunger pangs!
Reality hit like a ton of bricks yesterday morning. We spent a glorious week at the beach… I never wanted to come back. Those of you who follow me on Instagram saw the play by play.

We got home on Saturday night and had our first inaugural marshmallow roast in the firepit. S’mores and all. It was heavenly. The backyard is 98% finished! Pics soon.

It took a long time to find just the right paper for the ceiling. I was thrilled that the winner was from Home Depot! The chairs were a Craigslist find that I reupholstered.
As you may know, the curtains were custom painted.
I had my Grandmother’s piano bench reupholstered with a metallic cowhide. 
Remember the Nate Berkus turtle shells that I painted? Aren’t they fab?
Found this needlepoint on Craiglist. Had her made into a pillow. We had leftover turquoise linen from the wingbacks, so I had two pillows made. The Schumacher pillows are from Etsy.
We love our new living room. What I love most is that we didn’t break the bank creating it.
