Sleepover Invitations

It’s hard to believe it’s been three months already, but I am finally getting around to posting pictures of E’s sleepover.

Cupakes

All of the invitations and party printables were custom made and will be available online soon.  If you are looking to purchase them immediately, email me.  We were able to make so many decorations from the printable package.  I loved how everything turned out!

sleepover cupcakes

We attached cutouts of the pillow design from the invitation to lollipop sticks from Michael’s and used them as cupcake toppers.

Sleepover Party Favors

We filled these boxes from Michael’s with all kinds of spa goodies.  We wrapped the tops in paper from the printables.

Flowers

I printed paper and glued them together to make a table runner.

Fireplace

We mod podged the same paper to a cardboard E from JoAnn’s… and also used it for the banners.S'mores Boxes

We made individual s’mores packages for each girl.  You can get the boxes here.

S'mores BoxesI just love how they turned out.

Porch

We made several attempts to dip the balloons in glitter.  The first prototypes had way more glitter, but I didn’t account for the weight of the glitter weighing down the balloons.  This was the most glitter that we could apply and still allow them to float.  Flowers

paint it gold.

It’s no big secret that I am a lover of gold spray paint.  I wanted to share yet another tryst in our long, laborious affair.

IMG_1161My parents bought this table in 1977, the year they bought our beach condo.  It was in rough shape (totally rusted and scratched) and didn’t make the cut after the redesign.  So I loaded it into the truck and hauled it home hoping to use it somewhere on our back porch that was being built at the time.Back Porch

Well, 20 minutes and a few coats of gsp and she has a whole new life-  currently being used as a bar cart on the porch.

Bar Cart

Because it’s outside 24/7 there is some minor patina that occurs, but I love it.  It add character.Bar Cart Setup Bar Tabletop drinks tabletop

our porch.

For those of you that have been following #theneverendingporchproject on Instagram, this post is a long time coming.  Almost a year ago, I started working with Jeff at Great Falls Landscapes on the concept.

Porch Exterior Drawing

We worked for weeks on the plan.. And finally came up with perfection.

Porch DrawingThere were a lot of changes along the way. And while it took what seems like forever to build, I couldn’t be happier with the end results.  It’s funny, before finding GFL, I had initially hired someone else, and ultimately fired him two weeks in due to his lack of creativity.  So glad that I found them!  Jeff and Lance were amazing to work with and really “went” with my crazy ideas..

life is a blur.

Sometimes I feel like I need to check in with my iPhone to see if things in my life really happened.  That is the case last weekend-  I arrived home from NYC at midnight on Thursday and scurried for the next 36 hours to pull together E’s birthday party as well as a porch photoshoot.  Despite an amazing level of stress, fast food, acne and lack of showers- we got it done.  I can’t wait to show you all the pictures!  Here’s what I do have (from my iPhone.)

Dresser Vignette

We took our old Crate and Barrel dresser and updated it with these ring pulls.

Greys & Pinks

The bedside tables are from HomeGoods, we used the same pulls on those too.  Many of you have contacted me about the acrylic frame.  If you are interested in one, please email me.

e’s room.

entire room

Last year, for her birthday, we redecorated E’s room. Her desired color scheme?   Purple and pink, probably my least favorite color combination.  I started twitching at the thought that it might turn out like something out of a Barbie movie.  Well, it didn’t.  And I think we were able to create a room that both mother and daughter were happy with.

bed

It all started with the Mariska Meijers pillows.  That was my inspiration for the room.

Then we worked up a paint technique that looks like a wash.  I love the way it turned out.  Her bench-  a HomeGoods find that we had reupholstered.

Chandelier

The chandelier is actually broken, but I like it that way.  Speaking of broken…  I bought this picture frame on clearance at HomeGoods.  I had the mirror fixed and replaced the artwork with an enlarged picture of E.  I love the way it turned out.

The rocking chair was $20 from Craigslist.  The new fabric is from Spoonflower.

We covered her bulletin board in the same ol’ ostrich fabric that seems to be appearing all over our house.  It’s so durable and versatile.  I still have a ton left, so you will be seeing more of this!

It took a long time to find just the right paper for the ceiling.  I was thrilled that the winner was from Home Depot!  The chairs were a Craigslist find that I reupholstered.

Found this needlepoint on Craiglist.  Had her made into a pillow.  We had leftover turquoise linen from the wingbacks, so I had two pillows made.  The Schumacher pillows are from Etsy.

We love our new living room.  What I love most is that we didn’t break the bank creating it.
